Go behind the scenes at Yellow Point Farms to experience first hand what farm-life on a diverse livestock and produce farm on Vancouver Island is all about.  When you attend a farm tour, we will guide you on an unforgettable excursion through the amazing things that are happening on the farm.  As a fully operational and growing farm, plus raising our own human family, we are not open to the public on a daily basis. We are pleased to be able to share our farm with you during these limited availability tours:

 

Fall Farm Tour 


This family-friendly tour is a condensed farm tour that is great for anyone, including little ones and seniors ones alike! It is mostly based in one area of the farm so no strenuous/long distance walking required.  

Some of the highlights include:

  • Giving the baby Kune Kune piglets a belly scratch!

  • Viewing the Babydoll sheep munching away in the pasture.

  • Hanging out with our friendly Nigerian Dwarf goats in their natural habitat of pasture -lots of opportunity for interaction!

  • Learning about the chickens, turkeys, peacocks, and guinea fowl

  • Learning about our natural, sustainable growing methods for our produce

  • sample some fresh pressed apple juice from the orchard

  • Lots of opportunities to ask questions and learn about farm-life

  • Roast a marshmallow at the bonfire

  • Hot apple cider and apple juice made from fresh pressed apples from the orchard will be available for purchase 

  • Farm stand will be open to purchase eggs and fresh produce from the farm 

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather, boots that you don't mind getting dirty are recommended.  If you are coming from a farm, please wear footwear that has not been worn on your farm or has been disinfected.  We will require a boot dip before entry. 

Tours usually last about an hour, we have set aside 2 hours for the event in case you want to spend extra time with the goats and hang out at the little bonfire fire afterwards.

Fall Goat Walk

A one of a kind experience, join Yellow Point Farm's herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats on their daily walk through the pasture and forest as they forage alongside you. You will learn interesting facts about goats and other livestock, their unique personalities and what makes this inquisitive animal so special. There is lots of opportunity for hands on interaction with the goats, and lots of pictures!  The walk itself is about 45 mins total, it is not strenuous, we go at a leisurely pace.  After the walk, you will get to meet the new piglets that hang out in the apple orchard, learn about the poultry, sustainable organic growing methods, and sample some fresh pressed apple cider.  Feel free to hang out around the fire and roast a marshmallow.  

Goat Walks usually last about an hour or so, including allotted time to spend extra time with the goats, + with visiting the piglets and poultry, expect to spend about 2 hours at the farm. 

We recommend children to be aged 4 or 5 and older, or able to keep up with an adult pace. The goats won't wait :) No strollers.

No running or chasing the animals will be permitted.

VIP Exclusive Fall Goat Walk 

Cider, appies, and... Goats!  Indulge all your senses in this exclusive VIP experience.  We are inviting you to do what we love to do most. First we will head out for a beautiful fall walk to the back of the property along with our herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. Hear the leaves crunching underfoot and breathe the fresh autumn air.  The goats will be trotting alongside you, baa-ing and munching and just being goats! We will take our time and stop and learn along the way about the goat's unique personalities and what makes this inquisitive animal so special. There will be lots of opportunity for questions and hands on interaction with the goats.  The walk takes about 45 minutes, it is not strenuous, we go at a leisurely pace.  After the walk, we will head to the orchard to meet and pet the new piglets. Next, settle down around the campfire and enjoy some of our delicious hard apple cider and appetizer charcuterie plate, which includes goat cheese! Feel free to hang out around the fire and roast a marshmallow for dessert.  

Price includes 2 tastings of cider per person, and charcuterie appetizer plates to share with the group. Non-alcoholic fresh pressed apple juice or hot apple cider is available as an alternative.

  • Petting and interacting with our friendly Nigerian Dwarf goats

  • Viewing the Babydoll sheep munching away in the pasture

  • Giving the piglets a belly scratch,

  • Feeding the chickens and various other exotic poultry

  • Learning about our all natural growing methods for our produce,

  • A tour of the huge old heritage barn

  • Taste some of the harvest, depending on the season, whether it be our island famous blueberries, pure pressed apple juice, or fresh produce from our gardens or greenhouse.  

You must pre-book all tours. They are held by appointment only.  We are a working family farm and you need to make sure someone is available.

**Private tours are customizable to your interests; for example if you are interested in getting started with one of our types of livestock and want to spend more time learning about their specific housing and feed needs.  Just let us know when booking! 

**If you put a deposit down on one of our animals,

the tour fee will count towards your deposit.
